The driver

I heard a man scream like someone was taking his life and ran in the direction as it was very close. All I saw was a UPS truck parked in the middle of the road. What caught my eye was that there was a little pink bike under it. Then the driver appeared covered in blood and what looked like bile. He had a blank stare on his face and calmly asked for my help. At that point I thought he had dropped something on his foot causing him to scream. It was unfortunate that this was not the case. When I moved around the back of the UPS truck I saw it. The body of a child, mutilated by the back dual tires. He had apparently pulled the five year old remains from the wheels and laid them out on the street like a puzzle as she was broken into many pieces. The head of the little girl was crushed so bad that he had taken both eyeballs and put them back into their respected places. He wanted me to help him retrieve the intestine from the wheels center so he could finish his processes of reanimating this dead child but I refused. This happened so fast. The driver was in shock and I pressed him to follow me to the corner. He swung at me and I grabbed him and ran to the end of the road as police were arriving. I told the police that he was in shock and there was a dead child behind the truck. One of them began to cry. The driver was placed into the back of a cruiser. I gave my statement and was about to leave when the driver began to tap on the window. I approached the car as he opened his mouth. There on the tip of his tongue was one of the little girls toes. I told the police and they searched his mouth but he must have swallowed it. The body of the child was so mangled that most of her feet were gone, lost in a trail of flesh on the pavement. My only regret was to be there sooner. Maybe I could have done something to help the driver and divert what caused so much pain to his consciousness.

So sorry...

You do not know me and I do not know you, I am more than comfortable with this.

I am writing to tell you that you are okay and anything that happens from now on is going to be okay.

I will be posting a different short story every Monday.

The writings you will find on this blog are of a personal nature and from personal experience.

Nothing or no one is going to hurt you, you are going to be okay.

We are so sorry for what happened and if we could change anything we would.

Alcohol and Prescription drugs were involved.

So sorry....

Hello

My name is Dave. Dave is not my real name but it is a name that you can refer to me by. I am not a writer or an artist, a musician or a hero. I am only a man trying to make my way through this short life. I created this blog for myself and my friend that I met on blogger years ago. Hopefully we can together set a tone and create something that will resonate with others.
